WHITE PLAINS, NY – November 20, 2019 – Affiliate player, Kenny Wooten of the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, mirrored a franchise best shot-blocking performance as the visiting Grand Rapids Drive topped Westchester, 96-91, Wednesday evening at the Westchester County Center.
Wooten, who has led Westchester (1-4) in rejections each game this season, registered a franchise-tying eight blocks to go along with nine points and 10 rebounds. Two-Way player, Kadeem Allen, also flirted with a triple-double posting nine points, 11 boards and eight helpers. Affiliate player, Lamar Peters scored a team-high 21 points on 61.5-percent shooting and handed out five assists.
For the visitors, affiliate player, Donta Hall ended with a game-best 25 points on 84.6-percent shooting as well as 16 rebounds. Two-Way player Jordan Bone added nine points, 10 boards and 12 dimes.
Both squads held double-digit advantages through the first half of action. Grand Rapids (5-2) went up by as many as 12 points and Westchester went ahead by 13, occurring in the first quarter and second quarter, respectively.
The final 24 minutes of the contest remained tighter as each team swapped 11 lead changes and played to three ties. By the five-minute mark of the fourth quarter, the game stayed a one possession game. Affiliate player, Lamar Peters drove to the basket and put the Knicks up one, 91-90, with 64 ticks left. Detroit Pistons assignee, Sekou Doumbouya, drilled a go-ahead jumper on the ensuing possession and the Drive eked out the victory.
The Knicks host Wisconsin on the frontend of a back-to-back, Friday, November 22 at the Westchester County Center at 7 PM ET.
