Westchester Knicks Re-Acquire Nigel Hayes

WHITE PLAINS, NY, Jan. 30, 2018 – The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, today announced the team has re-acquired forward Nigel Hayes. He is expected to be available for tomorrow’s 11:00 a.m. game at the Raptors 905.

Hayes (6-8, 255) became the Westchester Knicks’ sixth player in team history to receive an NBA Call-Up when he was signed to a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 19, 2018. He appeared in two games for the Lakers, scoring 3.0 points with 2.0 assists over 11 minutes played.

In a related move, the Westchester Knicks have waived guard Jordan Downing. Selected by Westchester in the third round (59th overall) of the 2017 NBA G League Draft, Downing (6-5, 205) appeared in 20 games for the Knicks with averages of 2.0 points and 1.1 rebounds over 6.6 minutes per game.
