Trey Burke Named NBA G League Player of the Week for the Second Consecutive Week

WHITE PLAINS, NY, Dec. 18, 2017 – Westchester Knicks guard Trey Burke today was named the NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, Dec. 11 through Sunday, Dec. 17. The honor is Burke’s second in a row after being named last week’s Player of the Week. The accolade is the second for Westchester this season and the fourth in team history.

Burke (6-1, 190) averaged 33.7 points over Westchester’s last three games after scoring 32, 34, and 35 points respectively. The Knicks affiliate player has been the team’s leading scorer in the last seven games and is currently the NBA G League’s second-leading scorer with an average of 26.9 points per game. Tied for ninth in the league in steals with an average of 2.0 per game, Burke is also averaging 5.6 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game with a field goal percentage of 51 percent. Earlier this season, he broke Westchester’s all-time scoring record in the team’s third game of the season with a 43-point performance at Delaware on Nov. 7.

Previous Player of the Week honors for Westchester include Chasson Randle (2016-17) and DaJuan Summers (2015-16).

The Westchester Knicks (13-6) return to the historic Westchester County Center tomorrow, Dec. 19 to host the Salt Lake City Stars, the Utah Jazz affiliate, at 7:00 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on MSG 2 and will be Westchester’s first home game to stream live on Twitch, the world’s leading social video service and community for gamers with 15 million daily active users.
