NEW YORK, NY – January 28, 2019 – The New York Knicks announced today that the team has transferred Two-Way player Kadeem Allen from the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks.
Allen, 6’3, 200, joined the Westchester Knicks after appearing in two preseason games, and being waived by New York on October 13, 2018. He signed a Two-Way Contract with the club on January 14.
He is currently slotted sixth amongst Two-Way players averaging a team-leading 6.3 assists per game and ranks 10th amongst Two-Way players with 1.7 steals per game. He is also averaging 14.7 points per game on 45.2-percent shooting as the team’s fourth-leading scorer.
Allen was selected 53rd overall by the Boston Celtics in the 2017 NBA Draft out of the University of Arizona (2015-17) and Hutchinson Community College (2012-14).
He is the eighth Westchester Knick to earn a call-up and seventh under head coach Mike Miller. At least one player has earned a call-up each season since Westchester’s G League inception in 2014.
Allen and the New York Knicks are at Charlotte tonight for a 7:00 PM ET matchup. The Westchester Knicks will battle Raptors 905 inside the Westchester County Center tonight at 7:00 PM ET.
