Myles Powell Receives NBA Call-Up via Philadelphia 76ers

TARRYTOWN, NY – December 19, 2021 – Myles Powell of the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, signed a Two-Way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers as announced by the team Sunday afternoon. Powell becomes the 15th Westchester Knick to receive an NBA Call-Up and second for the 2021-22 NBA G League season.

As a Two-Way Player, Powell, 6’2 195, will split time between the Sixers and its NBA G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats.

For the 2021-22 season, Powell appeared in one game for Westchester against the Blue Coats on December 16. Powell came away with 15 points, five rebounds and two assists in the loss.

Through 13 games during the 2021 NBA G League single site condensed season, Powell earned three starts and averaged 17.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.7 steals in 28.1 minutes played per game. He led the team in assists on five separate occasions and led the scoring in three. His career-high stands at 31 points scored on February 15, 2021, against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He nabbed personal superlatives of nine assists and eight rebounds on February 11, 2021, and March 2, 2021, respectively.

The Trenton, NJ product played four seasons at Seton Hall University, averaging 17.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists over 30.8 minutes in 129 games (97 starts). As a senior, he averaged 21.0 points which then-ranked 17th in the NCAA and 4.3 rebounds over 28 games in which he started. In both his junior and senior seasons, he averaged over 20 points per game, including a career-best 23.1 points in 2018-19, which was good for 13th in the nation and slotted him second in the BIG EAST. He set single-season school records that season for most total points in the BIG EAST era (784) and most made three-pointers (107).
