Knicks Come Up Empty in Delaware

WILMINGTON, DE – March 5, 2022 – The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, fell to the Delaware Blue Coats, 146-111, Saturday night at Chase Fieldhouse.
Dewan Hernandez (returning rights) led the Knicks (11-10) in scoring with 20 points and four rebounds. Tyler Hall (returning rights) dropped 19 points on 50.0% shooting from three (5-10), together with three assists and three rebounds. Louis King (returning rights) had his second straight all-around performance with 18 points, hitting 4-of-5 (80.0%) from beyond the arc, along with six rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Kethan Savage (tryout) went for 18 points as well, while also contributing six assists and four rebounds.
Delaware (13-6) was led by 26 points each from Braxton Key and Jared Brownridge. Charlie Brown Jr. chipped in with 24 points.
The hosts jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first two minutes of the contest. Westchester used an 11-0 run in the middle of the first to take their largest lead of the game, 21-15, with 5:52 left in the quarter. Delaware responded with a 17-2 run over the ensuing three minutes to regain control of the game and took a 42-28 lead after one.
The home team continued to preserve a large lead in the second, opening a 72-50 lead with 2:18 remaining in the half. At the break, the score was 76-56 in favor of the Blue Coats.
Delaware would not let up in the third, expanding the spread to 103-70 with 6:06 on the clock in the quarter. The hosts led 113-80 heading to the fourth.
It was more of the same in the final frame, as the Blue Coats cruised to the lopsided victory.
The Knicks will return home to play the Greensboro Swarm on Tuesday, March 8 at 7 PM ET.
