Knicks Blast Celtics 126-99 for Second Straight Home Victory

BRIDGEPORT, CT – January 19, 2022 – The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, dismantled the Maine Celtics, 126-99, Wednesday night at Webster Bank Arena.

It was a career-setting night for the Knicks (2-4) led by Jordan Allen (available player pool) dropping a game-high and career-high 27 points, hitting 9-of-15 three-point attempts (60.0 3P%), together with five rebounds. Miles McBride (Assignment) scored 16 points and dished a career-high 16 assists. Brandon Williams (tryout) and Aamir Simms (Affiliate) each contributed 20 points apiece, with Simms point total accompanied by 12 rebounds, tying his career-high. Two-Way Player Jericho Sims went for 14 points on a perfect showing from the field (7-of-7 FG) and nine rebounds.

Maine (2-3) was led by Juwan Morgan’s 22 points, along with 17 points from Jordan Burns off the bench. Eric Demers and Chris Clemons scored 13 points and 11 points, respectively.

Westchester’s offense clicked early commenced by two McBride-Sims alley-oop connections and a snowballing effect of four consecutive made triples in the first frame, crediting its first double-digit advantage and boasting a 34-23 score heading into the second.

The Knicks stayed hot charging a 28-point deficit to Maine in large part to a 12-0 run committed by the hosts around the midway mark of the second quarter and continued to dominate through the third quarter’s entirety. Amid the fourth, Westchester ballooned the lead to 34 points, tabbing its largest lead all game as well as all season. The titled score was settled at 126-99.

Westchester will look to even the series at Maine, Saturday, January 22 at 7 PM ET.
