Knicks Acquire Tra Holder; Waive Allen

TARRYTOWN, NY – March 7, 2022 – The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, acquired Tra Holder from the Available Player Pool as announced by the team Monday afternoon. Subsequently, the team waived guard Jordan Allen.
Holder, 6’2 180, was the 23rd overall pick of the 2019 NBA G League Draft by the Texas Legends. He last played for the Birmingham Squadron where he averaged 9.7 points on 45.0-percent, 2.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists in nine regular season games with the team this season.
After going undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft, Holder has seen stints with Auxilium Torino (2018), Fraport Skyliners (2018-19), MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (2019-20), and Nurnberg Falcons BC (2020-21). He most recently averaged 17.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 20 games with Nurnberg.
The Los Angeles, California native played his college ball at Arizona State, where he started in a school record 120 games across four seasons, and finished his collegiate career with 1,797 total points, fifth on the school's all-time list. Holder averaged 13.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists throughout his collegiate career, and was honored as a member of the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team (2015) and First-Team All-Pac-12 (2018).
Allen, 6’4 195, averaged 8.6 points on 38.2-percent, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 20 regular season games with Westchester. Allen was acquired during the Showcase Cup and 2021 NBA G League Winter Showcase.
Westchester will commence a four-game home stand against the Greensboro Swarm tomorrow, March 8 at 7 PM ET.
