Jeffries Explodes for 37 Points as Knicks Crush Raptors, 113-104

BRIDGEPORT, CT – February 13, 2023 – The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, avenged yesterday’s setback with a 113-104 win over the Raptors 905 Monday evening at Total Mortgage Arena. 

Two-Way Player DaQuan Jeffries went off for 37 points on 66.7-percent (14-21) and shot 4-7 from three. Jeffries also had seven boards, four steals, one assist and one rejection. James Akinjo (affiliate) posted 16 points and seven assists off the bench. Trevor Keels (Two-Way) finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and four dimes. Garrison Brooks (affiliate) recorded a 10-point 12-rebound double-double.

The 905 (9-8) were led by Christian Koloko’s 18 points and eight boards. Gabe Brown gave a 16-point effort as a reserve. Reggie Perry concluded the night with 15 points. Jeff Dowtin Jr. had 14 points and nine assists. 

The Raptors were firing on all cylinders to start the game working up a 21-point lead with less that 31 seconds to go in the first quarter, 31-10. The Knicks (7-11) shaved that lead to 17 before the second quarter started, 31-14. 905 remained in the driver’s seat for the duration of the second charging double-digit deficits to the Knicks and established a 63-52 lead at the break.

The Knicks exited the locker room reignited and erupted for a 20-5 run by the seven-minute mark of the third to go up five on the foe, 72-67. Eventually the Knicks would credit a nine-point lead with 3:24 left in the window before a short Raptors spurt saw the teams separated by just two, 87-85, with the Knicks in front. 

Four ties occurred in the fourth period with the final one stamped 99-up with 4:02 remaining. The Raptors failed to score for the next minute and were deterred by four empty possessions in waning time paling to the Knicks 12-point output to close the game.
