Historic Night for Dylan Windler Despite Loss to the Delaware Blue Coats

WILMINGTON, DE – January 6, 2024 – Dylan Windler of The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, set several franchise records in a loss to the Delaware Blue Coats, 128-121 on Friday night, January 5th

Windler, 27-years old (6-6, 196-pounds), broke the All-Time NBA G League record for most rebounds in a game with a monster 33 rebounds. This record was originally held by Angel Delgado of the Aqua Caliente Clippers with 31 rebounds vs the Oklahoma City Blue on January 4th, 2019. 

Windler also broke five Westchester Knicks Franchise records, the first being the franchise record for most rebounds in a game with 33 rebounds. The previous record holder was Ivan Rabb with 24 rebounds against the Wisconsin Herd on 03/06/2020.

Windler set the franchise record for most rebounds in a half with 21 rebounds. This record was also previously owned by Ivan Rabb with 14 rebounds against the College Park Skyhawks on 01/02/2020. 

Windler now holds the franchise record for most rebounds in a single quarter with 13 rebounds, this record was last held by Melvin Frazier with 10 rebounds vs the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on 02/24/2023.

Windler secured the franchise record for most offensive rebounds in a game with 11 rebounds. This record was last held by Ivan Rabb with 10 offensive rebounds against the Wisconsin Herd on 03/06/2020. 

Windler also became the first ever Westchester Knicks player to secure a 20+ point and 30+ rebound game with his final stat line of 23 points (10-22 FG, 3-9 from three), and 33 rebounds. He is the second player in the history of the NBA G League to accomplish this feat, behind Angel Delgado of the Agua Caliente Clippers with 22 points and 31 rebounds vs the Oklahoma City Blue on 01/04/2019. 

Kenneth Lofton of the Delaware Blue Coats led all scorers with 26 points and 11 rebounds against the Westchester Knicks. Westchester Knicks guard Brandon Goodwin secured his third double-double of the regular season with a 13 point and 11 assist effort. Knicks DaQuan Jeffries contributed 22 points (8-14 FG) of the bench. 

The Westchester Knicks look to get their first win of the regular season against the Delaware Blue Coats, Saturday, January 6th at 6:00 P.M. The second game of a back-to-back and the final matchup against the Blue Coats within the 2023-24 NBA G League season.
