INDIANAPOLIS, IN – November 24, 2020 – Tyler Hall of the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, was named to the USA Basketball 13-man roster for the November 2020 FIBA AmeriCup Qualifying games as announced by USA Basketball Monday evening.
In Hall’s debut professional season, the 6’5, 209-pound guard shot 40.6-percent from distance on 224 tries for Westchester which slotted him seventh in the league with attempting at least that much. The Rock Island, IL native averaged 9.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.7 helpers in 39 appearances, 17 starts. His 2.3 three-pointers made per game ranked second on the team.
Hall’s 24-point performance versus Salt Lake on January 18 stands as his career-high while a 10-rebound showing at Maine on January 31 also establishes a superlative for the guard.
With Mike Fratello at the helm, Hall will be competing alongside Kaiser Gates (Maine Red Claws/Xavier), Jalen Hudson (Capital City Go-Go/Florida), Amile Jefferson (Lakeland Magic/Duke), Jemerrio Jones (Wisconsin Herd/New Mexico State), Josh Magette (Lakeland Magic/Alabama-Huntsville), Yante Maten (Maine Red Claws/Georgia), Sir’Dominic Pointer (Canton Charge/St. John’s), Levi Randolph (Canton Charge/Alabama), Tyler Roberson (South Bay Lakers/Syracuse) and Paul White (Salt Lake City Stars/Oregon).
Former Westchester Knicks John Jenkins (Hapoel Eilat, Israel/Vanderbilt) and Travis Trice (Gemani Basket Brescia, Italy/Michigan State) round off the selection.
Hall is one of eleven players on the November roster who were active in the NBA G League in 2019-20.
Hall becomes the fifth Westchester Knick to compete in the Qualifiers. Ivan Rabb (2020), Jenkins (2018) and Stephen Zimmerman (2019) represented USA Basketball while Xavier Rathan-Mayes (2017) represented Canada.
The USA team will train daily Nov. 23-28 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and will play Bahamas on Nov. 29 (4 p.m. EST) and Mexico (7:30 p.m. EST) on Nov. 30. The full 2019-20 FIBA AmeriCup Qualifying schedule is available at https://www.usab.com/mens/americup/game-schedule.aspx.
