Hall and USA Register a Pair of Wins in FIBA AmeriCup Qualifiers

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – December 1, 2020 – Tyler Hall of the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, helped USA Basketball to a 2-0 record in the November 2020 FIBA AmeriCup Qualifying games. In a reserve role, Hall gifted the squad 15 points in 39 minutes spanned across the two contests.

In a 99-59 rout of the Bahamas on November 29, Hall had a 12-point display all reigning from behind the arc (4-for-6). Two helpers shy of a team-high, Hall dished four assists to go along with two rebounds in 25 minutes. USA shot 51.4-percent from the field and 41.4-percent from distance. Bahamas only sank 30.2-percent of its shots with a 24-percent clip from deep. Former Westchester Knicks, John Jenkins and Travis Trice, loaned 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The following day in a 94-78 triumph over Mexico, Hall recorded a triple and hauled a board on USA’s behalf. Jenkins added 16 points in 26 minutes.

The 2020-21 FIBA AmeriCup Qualifiers feature 16 teams from the Americas zone divided into four groups of four teams. The top three finishing teams in each Group will earn a qualifying berth in the FIBA AmeriCup 2022.

The USA will have one more window of action and is scheduled to play at Bahamas on Feb. 18, 2021, and at Mexico on Feb. 21, 2021.

The three other groups also are scheduled to wrap up their third-and-final window of action Feb. 18-22, 2021. While the USA, Bahamas (1-3), Mexico and Puerto Rico (1-3) comprise the FIBA AmeriCup Qualifying Group D; Group A consists of Argentina (3-1), Chile (1-3), Colombia (1-3) and Venezuela (3-1); Group B includes Brazil (4-0), Panama (2-2), Paraguay (0-4) and Uruguay (2-2); and Group C features Canada (1-1), Cuba (1-2), Dominican Republic (3-1) and U.S. Virgin Islands (1-2).
