WHITE PLAINS, NY, December 19, 2016 – Westchester Knicks guard Chasson Randle was named the NBA Development League Performer of the Week today for games played Monday, Dec. 12 through Sunday, Dec. 18. The honor is the first for Westchester this season and the second-ever in team history.
Randle (6-2, 185) combined for 74 points in Westchester’s last two games, connecting on 16-of-20 shots from beyond the arc. He tallied an individual and team season-high 38 points on Dec. 16 in a 132-124 win over the Texas Legends, his nine three-point field goals (9-for-11) putting Randle ahead of Walker Russell Jr. as Westchester’s all-time record-holder in single-game three-point field goals made (Russell Jr. had eight on April 3, 2015 at Delaware). Two days later, Randle went 7-for-9 from downtown for 36 points to lead Westchester in a 120-106 win over the Austin Spurs.
Randle is averaging 22.3 points (sixth in the league), 3.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists for Westchester this season. He signed with the New York Knicks on Aug. 3, 2016 and appeared in three preseason games averaging 7.7 points over 15.7 minutes per game before suffering an orbital fracture injury. The Stanford graduate is the all-time leading scorer for the Cardinals with 2,375 points.
