Brandon Goodwin Sets Franchise Scoring Record

OSHKOSH, WI – February 2, 2024 –The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, were defeated by the Wisconsin Herd, 107-100 at Oshkosh Arena Thursday night. 

Brandon Goodwin, 28-years old, led the Knicks with a career-high 44 points on 47.5% shooting (16-35), tying his career-high with 7 threes made while also contributing 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. 

Despite the team’s loss, Goodwin’s stellar performance not only stood out but also marked a significant milestone within Westchester Knicks history as he set the franchise record for most points by a Westchester Knick taking the place of Trey Burke who last held this record with a 43-point performance on November 6, 2017, against the Delaware 87ers. 

Goodwin also joined a short list of Westchester Knicks players to record 40+ points, 5+ rebounds and 5+ assists becoming the 3rd player in Westchester Knicks history to ever accomplish this feat; joining only Justin Wright-Foreman who did it last year with 41 PTS, 8 REB, 9 AST on 3/18/23 at Motor City Cruise and Miles McBride who was first to set this record with 40 PTS, 9 REB, and 9 AST on 2/1/22 versus the Delaware Blue Coats. 

Down by as much as 13 points going into the second half against the Herd, 42-55. The Knicks battled their way back into the game riding the hot hand of Brandon Goodwin who scored 10 points to start the third quarter and eventually helped tie the game, 72-72. At the start of the fourth the Knicks would struggle to find offense and the Herd managed to pull away led by Glen Robinson III 19 points. Wenyen Gabriel (15 points and 13 rebounds) and Marques Bolden (10 points and 14 rebounds) would close out the night with a pair of double doubles for Wisconsin. 

The Westchester Knicks end their road trip and series matchup against the Wisconsin Herd on Saturday, February 3rdat 8:00 P.M.
