Allen; Irvin to Participate with New York’s Summer League Team

WHITE PLAINS, NY – July 2, 2019 – Kadeem Allen and Zak Irvin of the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, will participate with New York during the 2019 MGM Resorts NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The Knicks will be one of 30 NBA teams competing and two national teams, China and Croatia, over the 11-day, 83-game event beginning July 5.

The event opens with all 32 teams playing four preliminary games each. The top eight teams are then seeded in a tournament, which culminates with a Championship Game on July 15 at 9 PM ET on ESPN2.  Teams that do not qualify for the tournament will each play a consolation game.  Every team will play at least five games and as many as seven.

Allen signed a Two-Way Contract with New York in January and appeared in 19 games including one start, while averaging 9.9 points, 4.0 assists and 2.7 rebounds. In Westchester, the guard averaged 15.3 points on 44.7-percent and drained 41.1-percent of his looks from the outside. He also averaged a team-leading 6.7 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game and was named to the 2018-19 NBA G League All-Defensive Team for the second consecutive season.

Irvin is coming off of his second season with Westchester where he started 30 games and led the team in rebounding (8.6) and field goal percentage (56.7%). He scored in double-figures 22 times including a career-high 25-point performance against Long Island (2/9). He totaled eight double-double performances and concluded the postseason tied for third in the NBA G League with 11.0 rebounds per game.
