Westchester Knicks Release Promotions and Theme Nights for 2016-17 Season

White Plains, NY, October 19, 2016 – The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, will celebrate its third season in Westchester County with the addition of theme nights, daily promotions, and giveaways to the 2016-17 schedule.

New for the 2016-17 season, the Westchester Knicks will introduce a slate of exciting and unique theme nights for fans to look forward to all season long.

Theme Nights for the 2016-17 season include:

Youth Sports Night on Sunday, Nov. 20

The Westchester Knicks are showcasing Westchester’s future sports stars, as all youth teams in attendance will be invited to participate in a pregame parade on the court. Fans are encouraged to donate sports equipment the night of the game and will receive a free ticket to a future select Westchester Knicks game for each item donated, courtesy of Sportech.

Senior Night on Tuesday, Nov. 22

Seniors can relive their senior prom beginning with a Tea Time Happy Hour beginning at 5:00 p.m., followed by a pregame dance-off. One lucky couple will be named the Prom King and Queen of the Game. The ‘Early Bird’ tip-off at 6:00 p.m. will feature a can’t-miss performance from the New York Liberty’s Timeless Torches.

School Day on Wednesday, Nov. 30

The Westchester Knicks are bringing the classroom to the court for the third season in a row. Students in attendance will learn about the importance of health and fitness with a special presentation from Jamell Scott, Dean of Scholars and Families, Upper School Athletic Director for Amani Charter School in Mt. Vernon, NY.

Star Wars Night on Thursday, Dec. 8

May the force be with the Westchester Knicks, with the team donning special Star Wars jerseys for this galactic game. Fans are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots, a U. S. Marine Corps Program that distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community. Fans will receive a free ticket to a future select Westchester Knicks game for each toy donated, courtesy of Toys”R”Us. The game will include a silent auction featuring the specialty jerseys, with proceeds from the auction going to Toys for Tots. Test your Star Wars trivia while taking a photo with a Stormtrooper as the Westchester County Center goes galactic!

Home for the Holidays on Friday, Dec. 23

‘Tis the season to celebrate with the Westchester Knicks as the team gets in the holiday spirit with a special appearance from Santa.

Princess and Pirates Night on Saturday, Jan. 7

Mini Jack Sparrow’s and Princess Anna’s are invited to meet life-size pirates and princesses during this courtside duel. The Westchester Knicks will wear customized jerseys, courtesy of Main Street Pediatric Dentistry, which will be auctioned off during the game. Proceeds from the silent auction will go to Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital.

Garden of Dreams Night on Thursday, Jan. 12

The Westchester Knicks are teaming up with the Garden of Dreams Foundation, a non-profit organization that works with The Madison Square Garden Company and MSG Networks to positively impact the lives of children facing obstacles. Children from the Foundation’s partner organizations in Westchester will have the opportunity to take part in special experiences throughout the game, such as performing during halftime or calling the shots as an honorary PA Announcer.

Noche Latina on Friday, Jan. 27

Celebra la herencia Latina con los Knicks! The team will wear “Los Knicks” customized jerseys, courtesy of Yonkers Kia. Fans can bid on the special jerseys throughout the game via a silent auction, with proceeds from the auction going to Violence Intervention Program, Inc., an organization that provides domestic violence services for Latinas and their children in a culturally competent environment that is supportive, non-judgmental, and respects each woman’s right to self-determination.

Faith and Family Night on Saturday, Jan. 28

Churches, youth groups, and individuals are invited to participate in a pregame testimonial with Westchester Knicks General Manager and Knicks Legend, Allan Houston along with select members of the Westchester Knicks.

Knicks Legends Night on Friday, Feb. 3

The Westchester Knicks are turning back the clock! The team will wear a throwback jersey, courtesy of Hospital for Special Surger, that celebrates the style of the past while keeping the Knicks’ modern colors. The team will hold a pregame autograph session with Knicks of past and present, with a special performance from the Knicks City Dancers during the game. Fans who wear a Knicks jersey to the game will receive $5 off the purchase of a Westchester Knicks t-shirt. Alumni appearances will be announced at a later date.

Mascot Day on Saturday, Feb. 4

Local mascots from various teams and businesses are invading the Westchester County Center to help cheer on the team, and to take photos and visit with fans!

Family Night on Wednesday, Feb. 22

Spend a night with your loved ones watching fun, exciting basketball! Families will have the opportunity to take a complimentary family photo on the concourse, while kids can enjoy face painting and magic throughout the game.

African American Heritage Night on Saturday, Feb. 25

February is Black History Month, and the Westchester Knicks will culminate a month-long celebration with a night dedicated to those who left a distinguished mark on Black History. Players will wear jerseys featuring influential African Americans from throughout history, courtesy of Yonkers Kia. Fans can bid on the jerseys throughout the game, with the charity beneficiary to be announced at a later date.

Superhero Night on Sunday, Feb. 26

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a Knickerbocker! Life-size superheroes are taking over the Westchester County Center for this action-packed night.

Irish Night on Thursday, March 16

St. Patrick’s Day is getting an early start at the Westchester County Center, as the Westchester Knicks celebrate Irish Heritage all night!

Women’s Empowerment Night on Thursday, March 30

In conjunction with Women’s History Month, the Westchester Knicks will pay homage to influential women in history throughout the month of March. The month-long dedication will be capped off with a night highlighting the significant contributions of women to society and to honor their legacies.

In addition to theme nights, the Westchester Knicks will introduce four Daily Promotions that include ticket and food specials, giveaways, and unique experiences.

Daily Promotions for the 2016-17 season include:

2-for-1 Tuesdays

Select tickets will be available 2-for-1 and fans can enjoy 2-for-1 popcorn through the end of the game at each of the four Tuesday home games.

 Student Thursdays

Students with valid College ID can purchase up to two $10 tickets at the Westchester County Center Box Office at all four Thursday home games.

Freebie Fridays

A select number of fans will receive a giveaway at each of five Friday home games.

Kids Sunday Fundays

Kids 14 and under can play knockout on the court one hour before the game and get access to a full team autograph session post-game at both Sunday home games.

-Winter Hats, presented by Empress EMS, to the first 1,000 fans on Friday, Dec. 23

-Yowies (Multifunctional Headwear), presented by Yonkers Kia, to the first 1,000 fans on Friday, Jan. 27

-New York Knicks 70th Anniversary T-Shirts to the first 1,000 fans on Friday, Feb. 3

Single game tickets for the 2016-17 season will go on sale to the public beginning Friday, Oct. 21 at 2:00 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets through Ticketmaster via westchesterknicks.com or in person at the Westchester County Center box office located at 198 Central Avenue in White Plains.

The Westchester Knicks will tip-off its third season at the historic Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 5:00 p.m., facing the Greensboro Swarm, the Charlotte Hornets’ new affiliate. The team will open the regular season on the road on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7:00 p.m. against the Delaware 87ers, the Philadelphia 76ers’ affiliate.
